Our Board of Trustees

Brielle Community Library Association is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, is governed by a board of trustees. Trustees represent leaders from Brielle, NJ who are committed to education, literacy, and community. They bring experience from business, legal, philanthropic, and educational backgrounds.

The board is the guardian of the Library’s mission. It is the board’s responsibility to ensure that the mission remains relevant and vital to the community it serves and to monitor the success of the library in fulfilling its mission. The Brielle Community Library Association's Board of Trustees abide by the New Jersey Public Library’s Trustee Association set forth by NJ State Library, N.J.S.A. 40A:5-33.

Brielle Library is seeking an individual to serve as a volunteer library trustee to help enrich the community and to join in preserving and advancing the library’s vital role in the community.

As a trustee you will: Ensure the library’s mission and goals are met, advocate for library funding and resources, collaborate with fellow trustees to make critical decisions, engage with the community to understand its needs, and support programs that promote literacy, community and lifelong learning. The qualifi cations needed are: You must be a resident of Brielle, have a passion for books and education and possess community development, communication and teamwork skills. Having a fi nancial background or small business experience is beneficial.

Requirements are: You must attend monthly meetings at the Brielle Library and volunteer for special committee assignments. The term is three years with an option to renew for an additional term. You must participate in library events and support campaigns.
